What’s it like to have a real connection with someone?

For starters, it might mean living a life where we don’t break off relationships by email, announce deaths on social media or text to people in our own homes—all in the name of efficiency. Because truthfully, when we do those things, the cost is the chance at real emotional intimacy and meaningful relationships.

Many people believe that as long as they’re spending time with someone that they’re making that relationship a priority. But there’s a tremendous difference between physically being in the same room with someone, and actually making yourself emotionally and mentally available to them.
