In keeping with our theme of skin health and beauty, we present a few ideas to get you started on the path to inner and outer radiance! 

CLEARLY GOOD JUICE 

The bromelain in pineapple helps promote good digestion and good-looking skin. (Bromelain is often an ingredient in skin-clearing masks and exfoliants.) Cucumber and apple are water-rich, and help boost hydration and alkalinity.  

Yield: one serving 

Equipment
Juicer 

INGREDIENTS 

½ fresh pineapple, including core
1 small cucumber
1 apple 

Run all ingredients through juicer and drink immediately.  

 

CLEOPATRA HONEY SCRUB 

This is a skin scrub formula recipe that was reportedly discovered on a piece of papyrus dating back to 1425 BC.  

INGREDIENTS 

1 part honey
1 part baking soda 
1 part sea salt
a few drops of frankincense essential oil, optional  

Combine ingredients together thoroughly, let set for 20 minutes and then apply to skin. Leave for on for a few minutes, before washing off with warm water. (Always test new skin treatments on a small patch of skin first, to make sure you don’t have any reaction to them.) 

 

SUPER SKIN SMOOTHIE 

Kale is rich with antioxidants and skin-nourishing vitamins and nutrients. 

Yield: one serving

Blender 

INGREDIENTS 

3 large kale leaves with stems
1 apple, cored and chopped
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup green or red grapes
several ice cubes

Combine ingredients in blender until smooth. Add ice or additional water as needed.
