A: Yes, drinking water can absolutely improve brain function! Dehydration has a significant impact on memory, attention span, decision-making abilities and concentration. Your brain can actually shrink when you’re dehydrated. When you’re hydrated you are better able to flush toxins from the body. Each time that toxins in the blood stream reach high levels, they can seriously inhibit the ability to think and concentrate. Keep yourself—and your brain—well-hydrated so every part of you will work at an optimal level.

A: Good for you for trying a DIY tincture. Here’s one to get you started!
2 parts gotu kola
2 parts ginkgo leaf
1 part peppermint
1/2 part rosemary
1/2 part sage
Good quality 80 proof vodka, preferably organic
Place the herbs in a glass jar and cover with vodka. Seal the jar tightly with a lid and place in a warm area away from direct sunlight for at least six weeks. Shake the jar every few days while it ages. After 6-8 weeks, strain the herbs from the alcohol and discard them. Store your Brain Tonic tincture in a glass bottle.
To Use: Place 1 teaspoon of tonic into 1/4 cup of water, juice or tea 2-3 times a day.
